Just weeks after announcing the newest film in the X-Men franchise, director Bryan Singer revealed that he is already working on the story. Although little is known about the plot, Bryan recently tweeted a picture that showed who exactly is working behind the scenes. The tweet, “Late night X-Men Apocalypse story session,” included a picture of Bryan, as well as X-Men: Days of Future Past screenwriter Simon Kinberg and X2: X-Men United screenwriters Mike Doughtery and Dan Harris, who were all gathered around a coffee table in deep discussion. The character of Apocalypse was created by Louise and Walter Simonson and made his debut in the comic X-Factor #6. His most popular story line was “The Age of Apocalypse” which was set in a parallel universe and showed Professor Charles Xavier murdered before he could create the X-Men. It is said that the most recent movie, X-Men: Days of Future Past will introduce characters such as Bishop and Blink, who are key to the Age of Apocalypse story.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to be released May 27, 2016, two years after X-Men: Days of Future Past which will hit theaters May 23, 2014. ~Brie Davis
