X-Men script leak teases a character’s possible death

Part of the script for the much-anticipated film, X-Men: Days of Future Past, leaked this week revealing a potential death for one of the mutant heroes. The excerpt reportedly reads: “The largest mutant soldier steps us, his skin turns to STEEL. This is Peter ‘Colossus’ Rasputin. He tries to fight the sentinel, but –

The sentinel TRANSFORMS, its long arms turn into STEEL like Colossus, grabbing him, HAMMERING him with a massive steel fist. As Colossus falls-.”

The cliffhanger excerpt indicates the possible death of Colossus, a powerful mutant who is able to transform his body into a form of organic steel, by a sentinel released by evil military scientist Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage). Daniel Cudmore starred as Colossus in X2: X-Men United (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and will reprise his role for the upcoming movie.

Fans should expect some deaths in the new X-Men movie, as director Bryan Singer has a free license to kill and bring back as many X-Men as he’d like, since the film’s story deals with time travel. This may include returning actors and characters who have appeared in the franchise, including Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Halle Berry as Storm, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde and Shawn Ashmore as Iceman. Both younger and older versions for Professor X, reprised by James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart, as well as Magneto, played by Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen, will appear.
